Ipex Capital invests in innovative science and technology-based companies, both those internal and external to PA Consulting. However, when investing externally to PA, Ipex prefers to invest in areas in which PA Consulting has market leading expertise. This allows Ipex to leverage its relationship with PA and provide maximum value to its venture companies. For example, Ipex recently acquired Autotxt and is currently working with the automotive, telematics and wireless teams within PA to help develop Autotxt to its full potential.

Ipex hopes to realise its ventures within 4 to 7 years after initial investment. Although, occasionally realisations can occur earlier, for example when a company is acquired for its technology rather than its revenue streams or, later, where the market is depressed and waiting will yield a greater return to investors.
